Cafe Society Live at The Wine Rooms!

We are pleased to annouce that the Café Society band shall be playing live at The Wine Rooms for the first of our 2023  live music evenings.

The ever-popular Café Society returns to the Wine Rooms for an evening of live music, easy listening jazz and plenty of tunes you'll want to hum along to. The six-piece vintage band consists of vocals, trumpet, sax, guitar, double bass and percussion and, if you're lucky, a sprinkling of violin!With residencies at the Light House, Wimbledon and Trinity Theatre, we're very glad to welcome the group and their music to the Wine Rooms for a nostalgic trip through jazz - with old favourites in swing, blues and latin. Listen out for It's only a paper moon, Why don't you do right? and tap your toes to Girl from Ipanema!Joining them for the evening is Tunbridge Wells based vocalist Jennifer Maslin. "Gracious and most-off beautifully talented, her voice is outstanding." (Google review)Jennifer Maslin is a classically trained, versatile singer who loves singing jazz. With a warm, smooth and light soprano voice, Jennifer’s voice stands out on the jazz scene.You'll usually find her singing easy-listening jazz standards in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish - especially from the 40s and 50s, bossa nova, ballads and some blues. As well as with various duos and her trio alongside John Harriman and James Sunney, Jennifer is a regular singer with Café Society. 

Accompanying her to most performances is her trusty violin, which compliments her singing with a cheeky solo - or takes the main stage to spice things up!
